Evolution Jigsaw Learning
Today in VALT we were completely engaged doing some Jigsaw learning about Evolution. The children broke into groups and were then split to learn about Chernobyl, the evolution of the horse, New Zealand landscapes, useful scientific research tools, what a range of bird's bill's are useful for, and did an observational drawing of an earthworm. Next, they will take their learning back to their groups and teach each other other what they have learnt.

PNINS Visit
On Friday, VALT had the opportunity to visit Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School, and have a look at the different options available for us next year. Jordan even got to entertain a Lizard!
Wet Wet Wet
Not even the weather could put a dampner on Touch Rugby for the VALT touch team on Friday night! We all got completely soaked, but had a great time!!

Callum's Table Tennis Triumph
Callum McKinnon has been nominated for the Central Districts Table Tennis representative team for the Under 12 grade. It is a huge achievement considering how big the Central Districts area is. It covers Wellington, Manawatu, Taupo, Hawkes Bay and everywhere in between. He will also be attending a four day training camp with New Zealand’s top Table Tennis players and coaches. Good luck to Callum as he makes his way on a journey to the National Tournament in Palmerston North next year.

Young Cyclists of the year CSNS
Claudia Roberts and Callum McKinnon competed in the Palmerston North Young Cyclists of the year competition. They competed at a high level and were very successful without much practice. They were very proud of their efforts on the day. They competed against all year levels of 5,6,7, and 8. They would like to thank Kate Roberts and Stuart McKinnon for coming and supporting them in this competition.
